Third-Party Default Collections

ALTR provides 3 default collections of ready-made classifiers for the detections that Google DLP, Amazon Comprehend, and Snowflake produce, so you can use those services without building a classifier for each detection type. Each classifier in these collections holds a single condition that matches one detection type from its service, and each collection contains a selection of the detection types its service offers. To see a collection’s classifiers, preview it on the Default Collections page or import it.

Each service publishes the full set of detection types it can find. To detect a type that a collection doesn’t include, create a classifier with a condition for that type.

The ALTR Managed - GDLP collection holds classifiers that each match one Google DLP infoType, using a Google DLP condition at a Likelihood Threshold of LIKELY. For the infoTypes Google DLP can detect, see Google’s infoType detector reference.

The classifiers evaluate on Snowflake and Databricks jobs that use ALTR Hosted processing, and on OLTP jobs through your own Google Cloud account. See Google DLP Conditions.

The ALTR Managed - AWS Comprehend collection holds classifiers that each match one Amazon Comprehend PII entity type, using an Amazon Comprehend condition at a Match Threshold of 0.5. For the entity types Amazon Comprehend can detect, see AWS’s Detecting PII entities reference.

The classifiers evaluate on Snowflake jobs that use ALTR Hosted processing, and on OLTP jobs through your own AWS account, when the job’s selected condition types include Amazon Comprehend. See Amazon Comprehend Conditions.

The ALTR Managed - Snowflake Native collection holds classifiers that each match one category that Snowflake’s classification function produces, using a Snowflake Native condition at a Minimum confidence of MEDIUM. The collection includes one classifier for each Snowflake privacy category – ALTR Managed - SF Native - Identifier, ALTR Managed - SF Native - Quasi Identifier, and ALTR Managed - SF Native - Sensitive – and classifiers for common semantic categories. For the categories Snowflake can detect, see Snowflake’s native semantic categories reference.

The classifiers evaluate on Snowflake classification jobs, in both ALTR Hosted and In-Warehouse processing. See Snowflake Conditions.

In AI Data Shield, the ALTR Managed - GDLP and ALTR Managed - AWS Comprehend collections’ classifiers also match text in an API payload. The ALTR Managed - Snowflake Native collection’s classifiers read Snowflake’s classification of a column, so they don’t match AI Data Shield payloads. See API Payload Classification.
