Snowflake Marketplace Setup
Snowflake Marketplace setup is the guided path, available only if you started your ALTR trial from the Snowflake Marketplace listing. If your ALTR account was created another way, use the manual setup path instead — see Connecting a Snowflake Account.
Before starting, install the ALTR app from the Snowflake Marketplace listing — this is a Snowflake-side step, outside the ALTR portal.
To connect Snowflake through Snowflake Marketplace:
- On the welcome screen, start the guided setup.
- Name your ALTR organization.
- Review your Snowflake connection details, shown as the Snowflake Marketplace Hostname.
- Choose a configuration method:

- Select which Snowflake databases to register with ALTR.
- Review the progress tracker until setup completes.
Next, connect tags or columns to bring the data you want to protect under ALTR — see Manage Tags or Manage Columns. Then create tag-based masking, column-based masking, Access Management, or Row Access policies to protect the connected tags or columns.
