Connecting a Snowflake Account

Onboarding to ALTR — creating your ALTR tenant and account login — is separate from connecting Snowflake as a data source. If you don’t have an ALTR account yet, see Creating an ALTR Account first.

Guided or Manual Setup

There are two paths to connect Snowflake, depending on how your ALTR account was created:

• Guided setup (Snowflake Marketplace) — the required service user, role, warehouse, and privileges are created for you automatically. Follow Snowflake Marketplace Setup.
• Manual setup — create the service user and required objects yourself, then connect Snowflake as a data source:
  1. Review the prerequisites and determine the number of ALTR licenses you need.
  2. Confirm the required Snowflake objects, then create the service user.
  3. Register the service user with ALTR, then connect your Snowflake database as a data source.
