A sidecar listener port is an open network port that data consumers use to access the sidecar. Registering a listener port configures the sidecar to broadcast as the specified database type and version over that port.

To register a listener port for a sidecar:

  1. Log in to ALTRNet through your identity provider (IdP).
  2. Select Settings > Sidecars in the navigation menu.
  3. Select the sidecar.
  4. Click the Listener Ports tab.
  5. Click Register Port.
  6. Enter an open Port Number for the sidecar.
  7. Select the Database Type to associate with this port.
  8. Enter the Database Version to associate with this port.
  9. Click Register Port.

Removing a sidecar listener port prevents data consumers from accessing the sidecar over that port. Remove any associated bindings before removing a port.

To remove a sidecar listener port:

  1. Log in to ALTRNet through your IdP.
  2. Select Settings > Sidecars in the navigation menu.
  3. Click the sidecar to view its details.
  4. Click the Listener Ports tab.
  5. Locate the port and click Remove. ALTRNet displays a confirmation modal.
  6. Click Remove Port to confirm.
