Manage Data Sources
ALTR must be connected to a data source in order to enforce data access governance and advanced data protection on sensitive data.
The following data sources are supported:
- Snowflake
- Databricks
- OLTP: Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle and PostgreSQL
When a data source is connected to ALTR, ALTR is able to perform access control and enforce advanced data protection against sensitive data.
ALTR refers to databases protected by sidecars as repositories. Repositories must be registered in ALTR so that sidecars can facilitate secure connections between data consumers and databases.
Supported Databases
Section titled “Supported Databases”- Microsoft SQL Server versions 2019 - 15.x.x.x.x
- MySQL 8.0
- Oracle versions 19.3 - 23.3
- PostgreSQL version 17.6
ALTR’s sidecar can be installed in any environment, including on-premises and in cloud environments, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS). ALTR’s sidecar is available as a Docker image, containing all of the necessary components. ALTR recommends installing the sidecar near the repository for optimal performance.
