Connect to Repository Directly Using Native Credentials

Repository, sidecar and bindings have been configured in ALTR

You can connect to the sidecar using native repository credentials. This allows database access while maintaining activity logs for executed commands.

When connecting directly using native credentials, enter the hostname and port of the sidecar, not of the repository.

To connect directly using native credentials:

  1. Log into your SQL tool.

  2. Enter the sidecar hostname, sidecar port number, native repository credentials, and database-specific fields (see the below note). The SQL tool authenticates to the sidecar and facilitates connection to the repository.

    • Microsoft SQL Server—Database Name

    • Oracle—Oracle Service Name or SID
