Bind a Sidecar Listener Port to a Repository
After registering your sidecars and repositories, bind them together in ALTR to enable the sidecar to connect to the repository. This binding maps a sidecar port to a repository port, allowing traffic to flow between them. A single sidecar can be bound to multiple repositories, but each port can only broadcast as one version of a database type and version.
To bind the sidecar listener ports to the repository:
- Log into ALTR via Okta.
- Verify you have one repository registered to ALTR and at least one sidecar port registered with the same database version as the repository before creating a binding.
- Select SettingsSidecars in the Navigation menu.
- Click the sidecar to view details.
- Click the Bindings tab.
- Click Create Binding .
- Select a Sidecar Listener Port .
- Select a Repository .
- Click Create Binding .
Remove Binding
Section titled “Remove Binding”Removing a binding prevents repository users from connecting to the bound repository using the sidecar.
To remove a binding:
- Log into ALTR via Okta.
- Select SettingsSidecars in the Navigation menu.
- Click the sidecar to view details.
- Click the Bindings tab.
- Locate the binding and click Remove ; a modal displays to confirm.
- Click Remove Binding .
