ALTR's Sidecar Integration Overview

ALTR’s sidecar provides proxy-based database connections, giving organizations a secure, scalable way to manage access to deployed databases such as Oracle. ALTR’s sidecar enables customers to control access to databases using single sign-on as well as other powerful security features such as unified policies for controlling database objects and database activity monitoring for auditing and compliance. ALTR’s sidecar can be deployed alongside databases in customers environments while communicating with ALTR’s SaaS control plane for unified data security across different data technologies.

When using the sidecar integration, ALTR refers to secured databases as repositories. Unlike ALTR’s integration with cloud-based data warehouses, such as Snowflake or Databricks, ALTR does not directly connect to repositories. Instead, deployed sidecars facilitate secure connections between data consumers and repositories.
